Little Member Education Programs
Inspiring Young Minds Through Cooperative Education
At RVEC, we believe in the power of education—and it's never too early to start learning about electricity, safety, and what it means to be part of a cooperative. We’re proud to offer Little Member Education Programs, designed especially for preschool through second-grade children.
These programs were originally developed by Co-Mo Electric Cooperative in Missouri, and we're excited to bring them to our young members and their families.
Why Start Early?
While most electric cooperative youth programs begin in late elementary school, younger children benefit significantly from early exposure to these topics. Here’s what makes this program special:
- ✅ Teaches kids about cooperatives, career paths, and electric safety
- ✅ Builds early brand awareness and community connection
- ✅ Reaches parents and guardians through take-home materials
- ✅ Uses fun and engaging resources like books, coloring pages, and interactive activities
Children at this age still love story time—and when they bring a book home, parents often read it with them, learning something new themselves while seeing how RVEC invests in the education and safety of their children.
📘 A Lineman’s Day with Lineman Larry
Originally created for Lineman Appreciation Day in April, this program can be used anytime to introduce children to the vital work linemen do—and maybe even spark an interest in a future career!
Inspired by Flat Stanley, children can color, cut out, and take Lineman Larry on adventures. In return, Lineman Larry teaches them about his job through a beautifully illustrated storybook.
